Warning to any Apple mini displayport to dual-link DVI adapter users: this adapter does not work with the Apple adapter. I had assumed that it would work because it claims to support 4k resolution at 60 Hz, and I thought that I had a defective unit at first, but a bit of online searching revealed that other people are having the same problems. The USB-C power delivery port works, the USB-A ports work, it's just the display port that doesn't work for me.
Also something to note, although the marketing material claims 65 watts of power delivery, my 2016 Macbook Pro 13" shows that the adapter is providing 55 watts. The other 10 must be reserved for the two USB-A ports. Since even the 13" Macbook Pro needs 61 watts to be able to use at full load without draining the battery, this is not enough.
I wouldn't have bought it knowing the two above faults, but this seems like it would be a good product if you have a regular MacBook and if you don't need to connect to legacy 2560x1600 monitors like mine by daisy-chaning this with the Apple adapter. Ah well.Sep 20, 2018
